Eight athletes from Sting Nebraska’s MLS NEXT teams attended the MLS NEXT ID Camp in Denver, Colorado, last weekend.

One of thirteen such camps held around the nation, the camp gave players in the U13 and U14 age groups the opportunity to be evaluated by MLS Clubs and MLS NEXT Elite Academies.

“These types of opportunities are one of the main reasons Sting decided to join MLS NEXT Academy,” Sting Club Director Ryan Davis said. “Sting provides our players every opportunity to develop and compete at the level needed to participate in these types of camps. Our players were tested but they came prepared and ready to take on the challenges presented to them.”

In addition to the opportunity for eight Sting athletes to show off their prowess, the camp also gave Davis the opportunity to see how his athletes measured up to the rest of the field.

“I was pleased to see that our players were at or above the level of other players at the camp,” Davis continued. “It isn’t everyday that we get to see players across different clubs going through the same drills head-to-head, and I am thankful to our friends at MLS for giving us that opportunity!”
